Two Pillars
Chatham Kings is building two things at once — and they feed each other.
What Is Chatham Kings?
Adult basketball, built for Chatham-Kent.
Chatham Kings is a basketball organisation based in Chatham-Kent, Ontario. We coach private and small-group skills lessons for kids ages 8–18, run men’s and co-ed leagues and drop-in runs for players 18 and over, host community events, and are campaigning to bring a semi-professional Basketball Super League team to the region.
Chatham-Kent already has strong house-league and travel-team basketball. What we focus on is individual skill development — private coaching to get a kid ready for tryouts — plus a clear next step for adults once playing days on a team are behind them.
Our leagues are built for adults who want real, organised games — not disorganised pickup. The men’s league runs a full 10-game regular season with playoffs and two referees per game. The co-ed league brings mixed teams together on a midweek schedule. And weekly drop-in runs keep the game casual for anyone 16 and up. You can register a full team, or sign up on your own and we’ll place you on a roster — so a lack of a team is never the reason you sit out.
Beyond the leagues, we’re building toward something bigger: a semi-professional basketball team for Chatham-Kent through the Basketball Super League. It isn’t confirmed — it’s a goal — and in basketball, that case is made by community demand. Every pledge of support, every season-ticket sign-up, and every local business that backs the idea helps show the league that Chatham-Kent is ready for pro basketball. If that’s a future you want to see, there’s a place for you in it.
Where We Fit
Chatham-Kent basketball is bigger than any one organisation. Here's how the pieces connect.
Chatham Kings
Private youth lessons, adult leagues, community events, and the push for a semi-pro team.
School & Club Training
Youth high-performance training and school competition.
Youth House League & Travel
Youth development — house league and rep/travel programs run by local organisations.
We’re the adult and community layer — the next step in the pathway, not a competitor in it. Read the full vision →
Got a Kid Who Plays?
We coach private and small-group lessons for ages 8–18 — including tryout prep for rep, travel, and high school teams. Camps are in the works too.
We don’t run house leagues or rep/travel teams — and we’re not starting one. Our coaching helps kids make the teams that already exist.
